Wendy Abbott MSW, LICSW (she/her)

Founder

Beginning counseling for the first time can be frightening. The journey to emotional health takes courage. Sometimes you don't realize your own strength until you come face to face with your greatest challenges. Owning our own story and loving ourselves through that process is one of the bravest things that you will ever do. Your courageous journey in counseling is a way to reach personal goals, reduce suffering, and get more joy out of life. We have an unlimited capacity to heal ourselves, despite the pain we've suffered.

I create an emotionally safe, non-judgmental, and caring environment for teens, adults, and families to share their concerns and increase self-awareness. I provide a relaxed, laid back atmosphere, humor-filled, and a gentle, yet straight forward approach.

I specialize in anxiety disorders, mood disorders, school issues, ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder, substance abuse, relationship issues, self -esteem, trauma, parenting concerns, and LGBTQ+ individuals and community.

A relationship of trust is essential to a successful therapeutic experience. By working together with you, I hope I can help you on your path of inspiration, hope, and healing.

Everyone deserves a place where they feel seen, heard, and accepted. I approach therapy using a relational and holistic lens to help you recognize your internal strength and resiliency. I strive to create a genuine therapeutic relationship with each client.

I am passionate about working with adults (18+) who experience anxiety, ADHD, trauma and complex trauma, chronic illness/medical conditions, body image difficulties and eating disorder concerns. I enjoy working with folks in the LGBTQ+ community, neurodivergent individuals, and people from all cultural, racial and ethnic backgrounds. Other topics I enjoy helping people navigate are relationships, self-confidence, work-burnout, higher education and life transitions.

Social justice is very important to me personally and professionally. I am honored to be a part of a Palestinian family, which I believe allows me to be a fierce advocate for collective healing and climate justice, as well as an ally to marginalized communities. I am trained in Anchored Relational Therapy and use other approaches like DBT, ACT, systems and somatic-based therapies.
